3rd International Carbon Conference in China
The 3rd Carbon Conference, which was scheduled for May 19 – 22 2008 is postponed to September 2009.
The rapidly growing Chinese aluminium industry has stressed the market for carbon products in unprecedented ways. Thus far, this has resulted in reduced export volumes for Chinese carbon and significantly higher pricing. Additional impact is expected but not yet clear in what form this will take.
Past participants and sponsors of our event have suggested that the conference be delayed until more concrete conclusions can be made about the entire impact on the carbon business. Chinalco, R&D Carbon Ltd. and the organizers, therefore, have decided to postpone the 3rd Intl. Carbon Conference to September 2009. New information on venue and exact date will be communicated in 2008.
